September 2 is National “Grits for Breakfast” Day.  How about grits for brunch since it’s getting on toward lunch?   Thanks, John-Bryan, now I’m not going to be satisfied until I have a big plate of Shrimp and Grits from Crook’s Corner!

Degree 1:  I met Andy Warhol one night in 1979 at Bloomingdale’s for the launch of Calvin Klein’s new collection when I was working for Elektra Asylum Records and one of their artists, Eddie Rabbitt, was performing for the launch. 

Degree 2:  Edie Sedgwick was one of Andy Warhol’s superstars. 

Degree 3:  Kyra Sedgwick is Edie’s first cousin once removed. 

Degree 4:  Kyra is married to Kevin Bacon.  Ergo …

I’ve been waiting to use that one for a long time.  I justified it being food-related because of Kevin’s last name.
